The GMIT Castlebar Surf club performed very well at the 2013 Surf intervarsities Hosted by UCC in Castlegregory, Co Kerry at the weekend.

It was a great performance by all involved. Those who were placed are as follows:

Eadaoin fitzgerald 1st - women's novice
Katie Lynch 2nd - women's novice
Catherine Mullooley 4th - women's novice
Chris Delamere 2nd - men's novice
Alan O'Connaire 2nd - men's Body Board
Ian McAbe 3rd - men's longboard
Jarlath McHale - semi final men's open

As a result of their great performance the club have applied to host the 2014 event which will be a big boost for the local economy bringing over 200 students to the county for a weekend next march.
