One of the new players called up to the Republic of Ireland squad Conor Sammon has strong Mayo connections.
Conor has been selected for the friendly match against Poland on February 6th.
His dad Ambrose is from Islandeady and his mum Hillary is from Claremorris. They now reside in Malahide in Dublin.
Conor currently plays with Derby County and has had spells with Kilmarnock and Wigan.
He is a keen visitor to Mayo.
