Forty-year-old Bohola native John Reddington saw his dream come true at Navan on Sunday as he not only had his first ride but he had his first winner too. Agent James was Reddington’s first ever ride on the racecourse and few expected it to be a winning one as the newcomer trained by Charlie Swan was sent off at odds of 16-1. But Agent James, owned by Reddington himself, emerged from the dense fog to beat favourite Wicklow Gold by four and three quarter lengths. Reddington is now a building contractor in London.
