Connacht have confirmed that Pat Lam will replace outgoing Head Coach Eric Elwood at the end of the season.

The former Samoa captain has agreed a two year contract with the option to extend for a further period.

The 44-year-old's coaching career includes a successful spell with Auckland in New Zealand before going-on to take charge of the Auckland Blues in the Super 15.
