Gary Stevens looks set to be confirmed as Sligo Rovers new assistant manager- according to The Star.
The 50 year old former England star has met several times in the last month with Sligo manager Ian Baraclough.
Stevens will succeed Gerry Carr, who left his position after Rovers won the league title for the first time in 35 years, last October.
Carr first served under manager Sean Connor in 2005, then subsequently under Paul Cook and finally Ian Baraclough.
Gary Stevens played for England in the 80’s before he retired from football in 1992, spending the following two decades as a coach, and working with Sky Sports and talkSPORT.
