Sligo's David Kelly will miss the Allianz National Football League campaign following ankle surgery.

The forward underwent the surgery before Christmas and is expected to return in time for their Championship opener against London late in May.

David  also missed the 2011 League campaign due to ankle surgery.

Sligo manager Kevin Walsh has said that losing David is a big loss for the side.
