Mayo's Martin Vahey and John Staunton had to settle for second best against Kilkenny duo, Eugene Downey and Martin Lalor in the All-Ireland Golden Masters A Doubles final at Roscommon last night. In a spirited performance the duo lost out in three games on a  21-13, 20-21, 21-6 scoreline.

Tom Sheridan and Brian Carroll in what should a well-contested final. Sheridan announced to the media that it will be is final match of his 26 year long senior career.

is followed by the meeting of Galway's Martin Mulkerrins and Limerick's C J Fitzpatrick in the Intermediate Singles decider.

Mayo handballers of all codes are also involved in no fewer that seven of the twelve all-Ireland finals scheduled for various venue on Sunday.
