There will be no charge for parking in the mornings until 1pm each day on the streets of Castlebar  and in the local authority carparks in the town from Decemeber 1st to 24th to entice shoppers into the county town this Christmas.

Fianna Fail councillor Martin McLoughlin told Midwest News today that the arrangements are similar to last year.

He said he will be asking the local authority to erect signage at the parking metre machines in the town to clearly indicate that parking is free until 1pm each day during this period.
