Achill Island Lifeboat had two call-outs yesterday.
In the early hours of yesterday morning, the volunteer crew responded to a call-out shortly after midnight when a red flare was reported to Malin Head Coastguard.
The flare was seen on the Westport side of Clew Bay.
The Achill lifeboat searched the area, but nothing was found, and the crew returned to the station at 3am.
A second incident took place at about 7.30 yesterday evening, when a cruiser with four people on board reported engine problems to Malin Head Coastguard.
The cruiser was in the vicinity of Old Head, on the south side of Clew Bay, and the Achill lifeboat was tasked to assist.
The vessel was towed to Old Head Pier by another boat which was close by, and the lifeboat crew ensured all were safe before returning to their station.
