A Castlebar woman is through to the final 20 in the Outstanding Young Persons of the World competition, sponsored by Junior Chamber International.

Aisling Neary from Rathbawn, Castlebar, is through to the final 20 in this internationally recognized panel, having raised funds and built a school and health centre in Ghana.

The awards recognize young people who excel in a variety of categories.

A panel of adjudicators will now whittle the panel of finalists down further but the public can also vote on facebook to enhance Aisling’s chances of taking the title.
