The parents of Co Sligo singer Tommy Fleming will be laid to rest today, after passing away within hours of one another last Friday.

Hismother Annie passed away on Friday morning at Mayo General Hospital.

However, the family was dealt a double blow when Tommy’s father Paddy died just a few hours later.

The couple had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary only two weeks ago.

Annie Fleming's funeral was originally due to take place yesterday -- but was moved to today so she could be buried alongside her husband.

Funeral mass for Annie and Paddy Fleming takes place at 1 o’clock today in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Kilmactigue, Sligo, and they will be laid to rest together afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
