House prices in Co Mayo fell by over 5% in the first three months of this year, according to the latest report from Daft.ie
It shows the average asking price in Mayo in the first quarter of this year was €155,494 – which represents a fall of 5.4% from the last three months of 2011.
Meanwhile, another report published today shows more people are now renovating or extending their homes, rather than building new homes.
The National Housing Construction Index shows that just 44 planning applications were submitted in Mayo in the first 2 months of this year – which was down from 76 applications in the same period last year – a drop of 42%.
