A new map and guide for tourists in the Ballina and north Mayo region is being launched at 4 pm today (Thursday) at the Civic Offices in Ballina.

The main tourist attractions and recreational activities are listed in the booklet, produced by Destination Mayo’s North Steering Group, with assistance from Ballina Town Council, Failte Ireland and Ballina Chamber.

Also this afternoon, the Minister of State at the Department of Tourism & Sport Michael Ring will be in Ballina to launch the upgraded public swimming pool, and to officially open a new Multi-Use Games Area at Canalside.

The Mayor of Ballina, Councillor Peter Clarke says these are all positive developments for the north Mayo capital, and he says the new tourism map will be of great assistance to visitors in the region…..
