Tribunal Required on Deals Done Between Irish Governments and Oil and Gas Exploration Companies, according to Shell to Sea Spokesperson
- Details
There’s been a call for a forensic examination of the oil and gas deals done by Irish Governments with major international exploration companies that has led to the present deal that companies like Shell and others secured off the Irish coastline. The call comes from Shell to Sea spokesperson Maura Harrington.
She believes that the planning corruption exposed in The Mahon Tribunal Report while welcome concentrates on planning in Dublin in the 80s and 90s, but she claims how oil and gas deals were done in the 80s is another area that requires further investigation and merits a further tribunal or inquiry.
Maura Harrington says she believes now is the time to look carefully at deals done that are effecting our present economy and will impact on the country’s wealth into the future.
