The Vice President of America Joe Biden was presented with a special gift from the Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny during the official St. Patrick Day Festivities last week in Washington.

Mr Kenny presented Mr Biden, who has Mayo connections, with a facsimile copy of a precious artifact from the Ballina based Jackie Clarke collection.

The document was a copy of an orginal letter written by Theobold Wolfe Tone. Wolfe Tone is known to be a historical hero to the Vice President.

Author and Curator of the Jackie Clarke Museum, Sinead McCoole told Midwest News this morning that she hopes Mr Biden will visit Museum when it opens in the former Provincial Bank on  Pearse Street in Ballina later this year.
