Gardai in Westport are investigating the theft of a builders trailer from the side of the road at Tiernaur, Mulranny overnight.

The trailer is light blue in colour and had a registration plate on it – 07 MO 2955.

It also had a rack at the front for carrying a ladder.

The owner was traveling with two tonne of gravel in the trailer yesterday evening when he got a puncture at Tiarnaur, close to where the roadworks are taking place.

He parked up the trailer overnight and returned this morning to repair the wheel.

The gravel was thrown at the side of the road and the trailer was gone.

It’s believed the trailer was taken overnight and anyone with information is asked to contact the Gardai in Westport at 098 25555.
