Two Lost Cows Find New Home in county Galway
- Details
The two valuable cows that wandered on to a Kilconly farm, near Tuam, earlier this month without any tags have been re- homed rather than having been put down.
No one came forward to claim the two limousin heifers valued at approximately 1500 euro each, despite appeals on the local radio last week.
The District Veterinary office in Galway has now confirmed that the animals have been placed with a good farmer in the area and he knows their use is strictly limited.
Because of their lack of traceability, they will have to finish their natural lives on the farm.
They can be used for breeding but they cannot be sold or traded and most definitely cannot go into the food chain.
