Deputy Calleary Calls on An Post to Send Representative to Knockmore Protest Meeting

An Post should ensure that it sends a representative to the public protest meeting in Knockmore tomorrow night over the closure of the local post office.
The meeting has been organized for 8.30 tomorrow night in the village after it was discovered earlier this week that an Post intend to cease the provision of a post office in the Knockmore area from the 1st of May, once the present post master and his wife retire.
The issue was raised in the Dail yesterday and deputy Calleary called on an Post to ensure that it sends a representative to the meeting to hear first hand the impact of its decision on the 4,000 strong population of Knockmore.
