A man was fatally injured in a road collision in Portumna, county Galway,  yesterday afternoon.

The single vehicle collision hapapened at Shannon Road, Portumna, at approximately 2.30pm yesterday.

 A male in his 50’s, who was the sole occupant, was fatally injured when the van he was driving collided with a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe.

His name has not yet been released by Gardai
