Mayo is well-represented on Fianna Fail’s Ard Comhairle, following elections at the Ard Fheis in Dublin over the weekend.
Ballina-based TD Dara Calleary was reappointed honorary secretary, while Castlebar’s Lisa Chambers was one of five vice presidents elected at the weekend.
The 25-year old barrister, who stood as a candidate in Mayo in the last general election, was elected along with former junior minister Aine Brady, Timmy Dooley TD, Senator Mary White, and Kathryn Byrne of Dublin south-east.
Lisa Chambers says she’s honoured to have been elected to the position of vice-president.
Meanwhile, Mayo accountant Henry Cleary was also elected to the committee of twenty on the Fianna Fail Ard Comhairle.
