Campaign getting underway in Galway tomorrow, to highlight the demand and need for a light rail system to ease the traffic congestion in and around the city
A campaign gets underway in Galway on Saturday to highlight the demand and need for a light rail system to ease the traffic congestion in and around the city.
Galway West Independent deputy Catherine Connolly is spearheading the petition campaign, as a follow up on the commitment given by her at a packed public meeting last November, to initiate a campaign to show the demand for light rail in Galway.
The campaign starts on Saturday on Shop Street and will continue for the next 8 weeks.
It’s in response to the assertion by the Minister for Transport recently, that there is no demand for such a system.
The campaigners will be on Shop Street in Galway this Saturday between 11 and 4, and every Saturday after that for 7 weeks.
