A public meeting will take place in Ardnaree tomorrow night, as part of the campaign to save the local Post Office.
The post office service is provided within Hefferan’s supermarket in Ardnaree, Ballina but the post master is retiring shortly.
There are fears that the post office, which serves a large area, will close permanently as a result, leaving only the main Post Office in Ballina town.
An Post has now opened a public consultation process, to decide on the future of postal services in Ardnaree.
People can make submissions in writing before 26th January, while a petition is also being collected in the shop.
A public meeting on the future of the Post Office will be held in the Séan Duffy centre in Ardnaree at 8pm tomorrow evening.
