The trial of a Galway man charged with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to his neighbour, has been adjourned and the jury discharged.
48-year old David Corbett of St Clerans, Craughwell, Co Galway faces charges of making threats to three men between 1st Jan 2012 and 28 Feb 2014, causing them to believe he would kill or cause serious harm to Ian Quinn, owner of St Clerans House.
He is facing a further charge of harassing this neighbour Mr Quinn on dates between March 10, 2012 and July 31, 2015.
Mr Corbett has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The trial began at Castlebar Circuit Criminal Court last week, however, Judge Martina Baxter told the jury yesterday that the case would take much longer than the initial estimate of three weeks.
In light of this,, she told jurors she was not going to delay them any longer.
Judge Baxter discharged the jury and adjourned the case.
Mr Quinn is founder of one of the country's largest medical device companies, Creganna.
