1.4 million euro in grants announced for TidyTowns committees, to mark 60th anniversary in 2018

Tidy Towns committees in every village, town and city across the country can apply for a one-off grant, to mark the 60th anniversary next year of the Tidy Towns competition.

The Minister for Rural & Community Development Michael Ring is allocating 1.4 million euro in grant aid to support Tidy Towns groups across the country to bring out the best in their local communities.

Minister Ring made the announcement in Westport last night, at the Tidy Towns awards ceremony for the West and Northwest region, and said 39 Mayo towns and villages will benefit from the funding.

Speaking with Midwest News, Minister Ring  said this is a once-off investment by his Department to mark the 60th anniversary of the competition in 2018….
