Four people were taken to hospital following a 2-car collision yesterday afternoon at Robeen crossroads, near Hollymount.
The collision occurred shortly after 2pm.
Gardai have confirmed that emergency services attended the scene, and four people were taken to hospital – it’s understood they sustained serious injuries.
Local councillor Patsy O’Brien is calling on Mayo County Council to carry out safety improvement works at this location.
Councillor O’Brien will hold a public meeting on the issue in Robeen next Monday night, and is inviting local residents to attend.
The FG Councillor has raised the matter at three previous council meetings, by way of Notice of Motion, and he says it’s imperative that measures are taken to improve safety on the approach to Robeen crossroads…..
