5 million euro has been announced this afternoon for the RAPID programme, which is focused on tackling social exclusion in disadvantaged urban areas and provincial towns.
Mayo-based Minister for Rural & Community Development Michael Ring and the Finance Minister Pascal Donohue have announced details of the programme, which has not been in operation for the past 5 years.
Half of the money – 2.5 million – will be spent in inner-city Dublin, with the remained to be divided among local authorities nationally, with each council being allocated 64,500.
