Section of the N26 Road close to Mount Falcon Closed to Traffic between 1 and 4pm today - Diversions in Place

Ballina Gardai are advising motorists that traffic diversions will be in place between about now( 1pm)  until approx 4pm this afternoon on the N26, Ballina to Foxford road, close to Mount Falcon.

A lorry overturned, the Foxford side of Mount Falcon, along the route at about 10.30am this morning. The lorry was not blocking traffic, as it was lying off the main carriageway, but it is now being recovered.

The emergency services attended the single vehicle accident, and the driver of the lorry is said to have sustained non life threatening injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar.

Motorists travelling from Ballina are advised to divert at Rehins and through Knockmore and Pontoon.

Motorists travelling in the opposite direction will also be diverted through Knockmore.
