Local success story Portwest have announced the building of a new corporate headquarters in Westport which will cost over €10million according to RTÉ Business News. The new offices will allow for the growth in staff numbers over the next few years according to the company.
The Mayo based company have also completed the acquisition of an unnamed Australian company. It is the second company that Portwest have acquired in the Southern Hemisphere this year after Prime Mover Workwear was bought for over €7million.
The company employs over two thousand people and is sold worldwide, with their headquarters remaining in Westport.
Headquartered in Westport in Co Mayo, Portwest employs 2,100 people and sells in 110 countries worldwide.
News of the Australian deal was made today at an Enterprise Ireland business lunch in Melbourne where President Michael D Higgins is currently visiting.
