21-year old fatally injured in Dunmore collision has been named locally

The 21-year old man who died in a road collision near Dunmore on Monday evening has been named locally as Bernard Mongan from Cluide, Corrandulla, Co Galway.

Mr Mongan, who was due to get married next year, died after his car collided with another car at Carrowmhuineagh between Dunmore and Tuam at 8.30pm on Monday evening.

It’s reported this morning that his fiancée had been on a family holiday to Medjugorje when the tragic accident occurred.

The deceased is survived by his parents John and Ellen Mongan, two sisters and two brothers.

A 21-year old passenger in the car, who received minor injuries, has since been released from hospital.

The occupants of the second car – a couple in their 70’s and a 2-year old child – sustained minor injuries in the collision.
