Two food businesses in Galway were among ten that were served with closure orders last month, for breaches of food safety legislation.
Alfredos takeaway at Unit 9 of the Ballybane Shopping Centre in Galway was closed on 6th September for numerous non-compliances with cleaning and sanitation of the food premises and its equipment.
The closure order was lifted two days later.
A closure order was also served on Corrib Catering at Leisureland, Galway on 5th September, and was lifted a week later.
For the first time, the Food Safety Authority has also made available the full details of closure orders served on individual businesses.
Rodent infestation and dirty premises were among the reasons for the closure orders served last month.
