Colette Gibbons of Louisburgh Medical Practice in Louisburgh has been named Practice Nurse of the Year.

GPBuddy.ie, the online resource for GPs in Ireland, announced  the winners of the 2017 GPBuddy National GP Awards, in association with Affidea, an Irish based independent provider of diagnostic imaging services, at a ceremony in Dublin. 

Colette joined her current practice in Louisburgh in 2004. Since joining she has undertaken a large workload and now provides many new services, which previously required patients to travel 40km to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar.

Now in its second year, the annual GPBuddy Awards recognise excellence, innovation and collaboration among GPs all over Ireland. The winners were announced at a gala ceremony in Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel at the weekend.

This year’s judging panel, was made up of experts from across the medical, healthcare, media and business sectors.
