Children with disabilities facing delays in Speech & Language therapy, says Mayo TD

Children with disabilities in Mayo are facing major delays in speech and language therapy, because of a shortage of therapists .
That’s according to Mayo Fianna Fail TD Dara Calleary.
The HSE has written to parents, informing them that 50% of the speech & language therapists working in disability services are currently on maternity leave.
Deputy Dara Calleary says he’s shocked at the lack of planning by the HSE which is leaving vulnerable children with disabilities without an essential service.
