Mayo Minister urging teachers to plan school tours around local educational attractions
- Details

As teachers begin to plan school tours and activities for the coming year, Mayo-based Minister Michael Ring is urging schools to consider visiting local educational attractions – including the Michael Davitt Museum in Straide and the Ballycroy National Park.
The Michael Davitt museum is housed in a restored church in the village of Straide, and outlined the role played by the Mayo man in the national struggle for land rights.
The Ballycroy National Park in north Mayo has a visitors centre and an educational programme for junior and senior students, who can partake in experiments and learn about survival skills.
