Scientists in Galway have found faecal bacteria in a range of health supplements.
A study of 8 samples of algae based 'superfoods' like spirulina and green wheatgrass also found that some of the faecal bacteria was resistant to certain types of antibiotics.
The researchers from NUI Galway described the finding as a 'significant public health concern.'
