Joe Biden turns sod on new Hospice unit in Castlebar

The former US Vice-President Joe Biden is back in Co Mayo, where he turned the sod this afternoon on the new palliative care unit in Castlebar for the Mayo / Roscommon Hospice.
The sod-turning ceremony marks a milestone in the development of a 14-bed hospice unit at Knockaphunta.
Work is due to start in November, and when the Castlebar unit is built, work will commence on an 8-bed hospice unit in Roscommon, with a combined price tag of 15 million euro.
