Sod will be turned today on new school in Tuam

The sod will be turned later today on a new school in Tuam.

This marks the start of construction work on the new Archbishop McHale College – a co-educational, multi-denominational school for the Tuam area, operated by the Galway / Roscommon Education & Training Board.

With the number of students rising over the years, a new school building was needed to facilitate the student body.

The new school is being built in two phases, on the site of the existing school and will offer state-of-the-art facilities when it's due to open in September 2018.
