Go-ahead given for ice rink at the Mall in Castlebar this Christmas

The go-ahead has been given for the staging of an ice-rink at the Mall in Castlebar this Christmas.
The event will be hosted by the Chamber of Commerce over a period of five weeks – from early December into the first week of January.
A private operator will run the ice-rink, which has been described by the Cathaoirleach of the Castlebar Municipal District Councillor Martin McLoughlin as very exciting news for the county town in the lead-up to Christmas and over the school holidays.
Councillors unanimously agreed to the plan for an ice-rink at their meeting this week.
