A democratic Congressman from Philadelphia, together with his brother and father, will visit Easkey tomorrow morning (Tuesday)

US Congressman Brendan Boyle has strong family ties to the county Sligo village.

Brendan’s maternal grandparents and great grandmother are all from the Easkey area.

While his maternal Great Grandmother Mary Ellen Harrison, Cooga, married a Mayo man, Michael Walsh from Kilfian in county Mayo. The group may visit Kilfian tomorrow afternoon, but that is subject to time commitments.

Joe Cosgrove is the Chairman of Easkey Community Council and he told Midwest News today that the community is delighted to host the US visitors and is hoping for a big local turnout to provide a warm Sligo welcome.
