A man in his 20’s has died following a road collision outside Charlestown yesterday.
The collision happened at around 3pm yesterday on the old Charlestown to Ballaghaderreen Road.
The man died when the car he was driving crashed. There was no other vehicle involved in the incident.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body had been taken to Mayo University Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.
The road re-opened to traffic last night following an examination of the crash site by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Meanwhile Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Cloonchair, Mohill, Co.Leitrim. A man in his 30s was killed when his motorcycle was in collision with a car at 11.20am yesterday morning.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Sligo University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place. The driver of the car was not injured.
