Firefighters in Galway, members of SIPTU will this morning march from Galway Fire Station to County Hall

The march gets underway at 9.30 am from Galway Fire Station  and will conclude  at County Hall.

Siptu say they are taking the action to highlight the failure of Galway City Council to constructively engage, or even meet, with their representatives in order to resolve a number of outstanding industrial relations issues.

At County Hall the firefighters will hand in a letter to Galway County Council stating that the protest march is their final attempt to initiate engagement with their employer on these issues prior to considering a ballot for industrial and strike action.
