The need for Mayo County Council to cut back hedges and to trim verges along the main, non national roads in the Claremorris Municipal District was highlighted again by the Cathaoirleach of Claremorris Municipal District, Sinn Fein Cllr Gerry Murray at the monthly meeting of the Municipal District.

The Cathaoirleach again outlined concerns over the shortage of operative staff in Mayo County Council at present and he said in the Charlestown area there have been a number of serious road collisions over the past number of weeks and he suggested that overgrown verges, particularly at Crossroads is now a real health and safety concern.
