The Sligo office of the Workplace Relations Commission was officially opened today by Minister Joe McHugh.
Minister McHugh says this represents the first step in the Workplace Relations Commission extending its full range of services across all its regional offices, to ensure the same services provided in Dublin are available across the country.
Offices are also planned for Shannon, Cork and Carlow.
The Minister also welcomed the decision by the WRC to expand the number of its hearing venues through the addition of five locations including Mayo.
He said it’s important that complainants and respondents do not have to travel long distances to have cases heard.
The full range of services offered by the Workplace Relations Commission – conciliation, adjudication, mediation and inspections- will be available at the Sligo office where a mediator was appointed earlier this month.
