Trial to Get Underway today in Castlebar of Youth Charged with Murder of Teenager in Claremorris in 2015
The trial of a youth charged with the murder of a teenager in Claremorris in December 2015 is due to begin at the Central Criminal Court, sitting in Castlebar, today (Tuesday).
The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with the murder of 17-year old Lithuanian national Dovydas Jenkas at Claremount Manor, Claremorris.
A jury of 12 is to be selected for this week's trial, with Judge Paul Butler presiding.
Traditionally the Central Criminal Court sat only in Dublin but in recent years has sat in Castlebar, Limerick, Sligo, Ennis and Cork.
