Three men have lucky escape after they were rescued from the sea off Creevagh Head in Mayo earlier today

3 men had a lucky escape earlier today when they were rescued from the sea off Creevagh Head this afternoon.

The three foreign nationals left from Lacken Pier to do some fishing when their dinghy overturned.

Two of the men were wearing lifejackets and one had a floatation suit on.

Local fisherman Stephen Rooney was in the area with his boat the Anna Marie and spotted the men in difficulty in the water at around 1.45pm.

He threw a rope to them and managed to get them to shore.

All three are said to be uninjured but shaken from their experience.
