Gardai appeal for information following fatal road collision on N17 between Claremorris and Knock

Gardai are appealing for assistance from the public, following a road collision on the N17 between Claremorris and Knock.
A local man in his 60’s died in the incident, which occurred in the Ballinasmalla area.
It’s believed his car left the road, and was spotted by a passerby at about 7am this morning.
Gardai are appealing for information on the car involved – a grey Nissan Almera with a 06 D registration.
Anyone who saw this car since 4.30 yesterday afternoon is asked to contact Claremorris Garda Station at 094 – 9372080.
The man’s remains have been removed to Mayo University Hospital for post-mortem examination.
