It’s morally wrong that the local community in Kiltimagh is being asked by Mayo County Council for a local contribution of 120,000 euro towards the development of a playground and public amenity in the town – that’s the view of Castlebar Independent Councillor Frank Durcan.
Councillor Durcan raised his concerns at the recently monthly meeting of the Castlebar Municipal District, and said the contribution is excessive for small towns and villages across Co Mayo, while in larger towns, Mayo County Council foots the bill for similar and more elaborate facilities.
