Enda Kenny is making it his mission to make sure Donald Trump knows the benefits of the EU, as well as its problems

Enda Kenny is making it his mission to make sure Donald Trump knows the benefits of the EU, as well as its problems.

He was speaking ahead of their meeting in the Oval Office tomorrow for St Patrick Day Festivities, when the Taoiseach will become the first pro-EU leader to meet the new President.

President Trump has been openly sceptical of the European Union, forming close ties to Brexit supporters, and blaming it for planning problems at his Doonbeg investment in county Clare.

But Enda Kenny admits his job is made difficult because the EU is not very good at selling itself.
