Mayo IFA warns dog owners to keep their animals under control during lambing season

With lambing season now underway, the IFA is warning dog owners to keep their dogs under control at all times.

The IFA estimates that between 300 and 400 dog attacks on sheep take place each year, with up to 3 or 4,000 sheep killed or injured.

A number of dog attacks have been reported across the country again in recent weeks, and the IFA says not enough dog owners are shouldering the responsibility that goes with owning a pet.
