Woman being questioned in connection with sudden death of baby boy released without charge with file being prepared by DPP
A woman who was being questioned in connection with the sudden an unexplained death of a 4-month old baby boy in Bohola has been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The woman was arrested yesterday after Gardai launched an investigation into the sudden and unexplained death following an incident at a residence in Bohola at the end of last month.
The baby was taken by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar on December 28th last and was later removed to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, where he was pronounced dead on January 1st.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out by the State Pathologist and a preliminary report has been forwarded to investigating Gardai. Details of the report are not being released by Gardai for operational reasons.
The woman in her 20’s was released earlier today.
The investigation is ongoing.
