Woman arrested after Gardai launch investigation into sudden and unexplained death of 4 month-old baby boy in Bohola
A woman has been arrested after Gardai launched an investigation into the sudden and unexplained death of a 4-month old baby boy following an incident at a residence in Bohola at the end of last month.
The baby was taken by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar on December 28th last and was later removed to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, where he was pronounced dead on January 1st.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out by the State Pathologist and a preliminary report has been forwarded to investigating Gardai. Details of the report are not being released by Gardai for operational reasons.
The woman in her 20’s was arrested yesterday as part of the investigation and is being held at Claremorris Gardai Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The investigation is ongoing.
